I like my Tom Tom and I am enjoying using it. The Amazon website was misleading. You have the choice of of refurbished or new for the same price. I selected both and in my cart one showed as refurbished and one showed as New, same price for either. The web site is still this way. I went with the new one of course. My Tom Tom arrived with a refurbished note in the box. Still it worked fine. My second and biggest disappointment was when I tried to use the latest map guarantee and was told that my guarantee had expired. For $39. I can bring my outdated maps (9 quarters old) up to date. This is a nice GPS but please fix the website to avoid this error in the future.

1. the GPS is easy to be massy and the user really doesn't know what is the map during drive. the stability is really a big issue. I almost was lost during the way from somky mountain back to my home in durham.
2. when I purchase this product, they promoted it for $20 refund. but 1 month passed and no any news about the refund.

So far, so good. I got the unit three days ago. It was easy to set up and to understand right out of the box. The operation is very straight forward and intuitive. I went on-line and installed "Tom Tom Home 2", a program that connects your Tom Tom for updates and additions. I was able to download the latest maps as a free update, which surprised me since this was a reconditioned unit.
Because it's a 130-"S", you get spoken street and route designations. I find this a great help, especially in unfamiliar territory. You're limited to computer voice, but it's pretty natural sounding. I have no idea on battery life, because I've used it strictly with the power adapter.
I did use it yesterday in traveling to a rural location and it put me four miles on the other end of the road from the actual destination. Apparently, Google Maps makes the same mistake with this location. I tried to correct the mistake using a user correction function in the Tom Tom, but couldn't figure it out.
All in all, I'm very pleased with the unit. For the money, it can't be beat.

I bought this for a trip to Center Sandwich, New Hampshire. My in-laws are always telling me to be careful with a GPS around there as it tends to take you on roads you don't want to be on. I didn't have that problem. Even the most backwater roads in NH and MT (where I live) are on this GPS. I didn't bother paying extra to upgrade to the latest and greatest US/Canada maps either (fifty bucks? really?). The screen is easy to read both day and night. The window mount works very well; I had it mounted for 9 days and still couldn't pull it off the window. Setting up and using this is very easy, too. The touchscreen works well and the controls are very intuitive.

in a few words "so worth it"... I used the coupons that I had plus the savings/[...] and I can only say worth it..I got the update as well so I have no complaints
