 "Garmin Cadence Sensor" 2009-09-29

Simple to install, works as expected. I had a small challenge in the discovery but that was related to the 310XT head unit. Very happy with the product, it works without having to think about it.

 "Easy Installation, Great Performance" 2009-09-24
By D. Shows (Dayton, Ohio United States)
I had no problems with this unit at all. It was a piece of cake to install and paired with my Forerunner 50 right away. I left my old device on the bike to compare the Garmin 010 with and they were both a complete match. Later I went on a ride with a friend who has a GPS unit and this Garmin speedometer, cadence and distance device were right with his GPS to within .01. This is a great buy and would easily recommend it.

"Install easy with a little help" 2009-09-23
By Phil Warga
The unit moved a little after a few hundred miles of vibration. I reinstalled it with double stick tape under it and so far so good. Great care must be taken when doing this as once it sticks, it is stuck. So I was glad to try it out first to check it out, and then mark its location on the bike and carefully reinstall it with the tape. As has been said before the lights cannot be seen in the daylight, so move the bike in the garage to check the cadence.

I lost the magnet too but the local bike shop to the rescue.

"Easy way to improve cycling feedback" 2009-09-18
By Benson Wellington
I had the FR305 for a few months before getting this sensor and was happy with the feedback it was giving me. However, there were times when I would lose a signal temporarily (generally in heavily wooded areas and have it guess at my speed etc. But now I am able to get precise and real time speed on my rides and logs. Also, I now have cadence to review in the garmin ride software. This sensor has helped me analysis how I can improve my gearing in different areas of my ride to optimize my work. I rarely push gears that are too big or spin out in gears that are too small. Plus, amazon sells it for a LOT less!

"IF YOU HAVE SPECIAL WHEELS......." 2009-09-12
By Edward J. Abramson (Vail, CO USA)
Installed cadence sensor for my edge 305. all went well until I got to the wheel sensor which is supposed to attach to the spokes with a threaded shaft and a plastic "nut" to tighten onto the spokes. I have a super light krysium wheel which have flat spokes. I could not attach the sensor because the spoke was too wide. my solution was to drill a hole in the spoke slightly smaller than the shaft of the magnetic sensor and thread the sensor on. I also could have drilled a slightly larger hole and used their plastic nut reversed on the back to hold the sensor on. Be advised.
